Christmas Engagement: Karl-Anthony Towns Proposes to Jordyn Woods

NEW YORK – For Karl-Anthony Towns, this Christmas was about more than just success on the court; it marked one of the most significant milestones of his life. The New York Knicks center surprised his longtime girlfriend, Jordyn Woods, with a stunning engagement ring.

The couple announced their happiness in a joint Instagram post on Thursday. The engagement took place in style on a New York City rooftop, where Towns dropped to one knee against the backdrop of the city's night skyline. They jokingly captioned the photos: "Marry Christmas."

The Knicks star excelled both in his personal life and on the court: he contributed 11 points and 14 rebounds to the Knicks' 126–124 Christmas Day victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.

The news immediately drew reactions from the elite of the sports and celebrity worlds. His teammates, Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, were among the first to congratulate him, with Brunson sharing the news with an enthusiastic "Let's go!". The comment section was filled with well-wishes from celebrities like Chicago Sky star Angel Reese and Olympic gold medalist gymnast Suni Lee.

Towns and Woods have been a couple since 2020. The depth of their relationship was highlighted by a touching gesture earlier this year when Woods surprised Towns for his 30th birthday with a black 1990s Isuzu Trooper—the exact car Towns' late mother, Jacqueline Cruz-Towns, used to drive. Woods has been a frequent guest at games since the beginning of their relationship and can now continue cheering from the stands as his fiancée.
