While the team has found a new lease of life under the leadership of Michael Carrick, Manchester United are reportedly already planning a massive squad overhaul for the end of the season. According to the latest reports from TEAMtalk, the Red Devils have identified two key targets from La Liga to bolster their ranks.

The first name on the shortlist is Alejandro Balde. The young Spanish international is seen as the solution to United's long-term left-back concerns. While Manchester United are reportedly ready to offer an initial €40 million, FC Barcelona are expected to hold out for a higher valuation given the player's potential and importance to the Catalan side.

In addition to the defense, Carrick is looking to solidify the midfield. With Casemiro expected to depart at the end of the campaign, United have turned their attention to Villarreal's Pape Gueye. The 27-year-old Senegalese international has been a standout performer in Spain, and Villarreal have reportedly slapped a €60 million price tag on their star defensive midfielder.

If both deals materialize, the total investment could exceed €100-120 million, signaling United's intent to return to the summit of English and European football.
